Florida Higher-Speed Rail Line Remains Stopped In Its Tracks

The pandemic has brought Brightline/Virgin trains to a standstill, both literally and financially.

The higher-speed rail line that was running through South Florida, with plans to expand to Orlando, suspended service in March and is still not up and running.

Construction has never started on a train station in Boca Raton and the city and Brightline have submitted for a grant from the Federal Railroad Association.

Mayor Scott Singer says they should hear back in the next few months and would start construction immediately after the grant is secured.
