Florida Man Buys $140,000 Porsche with Fake Check he Printed at Home

A Florida man who bought a $140,000 Porsche last week got to enjoy it for only two days -- before police arrested him for using a bogus check to purchase it.

Walton County resident Casey William Kelley, 42, is facing charges of grand theft auto and using a fake banknote in connection with the purchase.

Investigators say he paid for the car -- a 911 Turbo -- with a fake cashier's check he designed and printed at home.

Although Kelley got away with buying the sports car, he wasn't so lucky when he attempted to make his next purchase, according to the Walton County Sheriff's Office.

After handing over a $61,000 check to a jeweler for a pair of Rolex watches, an alert salesperson tried to confirm the authenticity of the check -- and called police when he discovered it wasn't real, Kelley's arrest report reveals.
