New report says Florida is ready for November election.

Florida is well positioned to conduct a safe, reliable election in November with a robust vote-by-mail program according to a new report by the nonprofit government watchdog group Integrity Florida.

"Since 2002 Florida voters have been able to request a mail ballot for any reason," Integrity Florida spokesman Ben Wilcox said. "Florida has a long history with vote-by-mail and the process has been modified and improved over the years- most recently in 2019."

The report says vote-by-mail may be slightly more susceptible to fraud than in-person voting but research shows voter fraud in general is exceedingly rare.

While Florida may be ready for November- Wilcox says because of who we are- we need to try not to shoot ourselves in the foot.

"This is Florida after all. If something can go wrong- it probably will. And if the election is close, it'll probably be contested."

The report says vote-by-mail may well be the future of elections in the U.S.
