Governor DeSantis Touts Victory Over CDC In Cruise Suit

About 600 volunteers are on board Royal Caribbean's Freedom of the Seas for a simulation cruise, as the industry prepares to hit the high seas again.

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis feels a federal judge got it right, ruling the Centers for Disease Control can not mandate passengers be vaccinated against COVID-19. It can only recommend it.

"We're happy. We think that basically we succeeded, and we think the appeal, if they do choose to appeal it, I think we'll succeed there," says DeSantis.

The Freedom of the Seas is expected back at PortMiami tomorrow evening.

Celebrity Cruises' Celebrity Edge is set on Saturday to leave Port Everglades. It will become the first cruise with paying guests to leave a U.S. port since last March.
