Women are now leading the front office of the Miami Marlins.
This morning Caroline O'Connor was promoted to President of Business Operations.
With Kim Ng as General Manager, the fish are the only major professional sports team in the country to have day-to-day operations controlled by women and is only the second team in MLB history to have a female team president.
University of Miami Sports Administration Associate Professor Dr. Tywan Martin feels the female spirit has been missing in male dominated sports.
"I'm hopeful that this will be the sort of next example, a paradigm if you will, in terms of what should and what could happen when you are talking about sports, and this is across the board," said Martin.
He hopes to not only see more women in men's professional sports but also collegiate and high school sports.
