Government Shutdown Creates New Thanksgiving Travel Trend

The holiday travel period kicks into first gear and this year there's a new trend. Travel Editor Peter Greenberg says more people are driving to their final destinations. He says the worst day for travel is not the Wednesday before Thanksgiving but the Sunday after. Soif you're looking to avoid long lines and delays he suggests heading home next Friday. He also says travelers should be aware of scams. Don't hand your cellphone to anyone asking to take your picture. Don't pose for selfies on mountaintops or other dangerous destinations.
